A lightweight Chrome extension that opens any configured URL side-by-side with your current window in one click.

Features

  • One-click launch from the toolbar icon
  • Configurable default URL (default: https://chatgpt.com/)
  • Choose left or right for the target URL
  • Adjustable split ratio (50:50 to 75:25 in 5% steps)
  • Window overlap adjustment to hide window border gaps
  • Multi-monitor aware via system.display API
  • Minimal permissions: windows, storage, system.display only

Installation

  1. Download window-split-launcher-v0.1.0.zip
  2. Unzip to a folder
  3. Go to chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode
  4. Click "Load unpacked" and select the unzipped folder
