First public release. 🎉

This version consolidates the internal drafting and review process carried out among the SOI Asia partner universities (IOE-TU, Keio, UB, USK) and opens the guideline for feedback and contributions from the wider community.

Content summary

  • 16 sections covering the full documentation lifecycle: principles, resource selection, 3D-centered collection methods (close-range scanning / photogrammetry, audio as supplementary), step-by-step processing workflows, metadata & paradata, multilingual metadata, ethics & community consent, sensitive-data handling, storage & sharing, the DHASH platform and its open standards (IIIF, TEI, LOD, Voyager, Omeka S), lessons learned, and sustainability.
  • 9 figures: field photographs from the USK, UB, and IOE-TU pilots plus workflow diagrams.
  • 20 references, including the DARIAH Social Justice in the Digital Humanities course, the CARE & FAIR principles, COAR multilingual repository recommendations, and ALLEA (2020).
