v0.6.0
v0.6.0
Major release completing the full PVE storage plugin API audit. All critical, high, and medium priority items resolved.
Backup protection
- Protected attribute via S3 object tags — the UI "Protected" toggle now works on backups. Protected backups are skipped during pruning. Stored as S3 object tags, shared across all nodes.
- New daemon endpoints:
/v1/get-attr,/v1/set-attr
S3-native disk operations (since v0.4.5)
- Template conversion (
create_base) — renames disk in S3 via CopyObject + DeleteObject - Same-storage clone (
clone_image) — copies disk in S3 via CopyObject - Disk rename (
rename_volume) — reassigns disk ownership via S3 rename - New daemon endpoints:
/v1/copy,/v1/rename
Correct feature reporting
volume_has_feature— accurately reports clone, template, rename, copy as supported; snapshots disabled
Volume listing and naming
list_images— queries S3 instead of globbing local cache, prevents disk name collisionsalloc_image— uses S3-awarefind_free_diskname, plus local cache check to avoid duplicates on rapid consecutive allocationsvolume_size_info— cache-first with S3 metadata fallbackvmidfield included in list_volumes for images content (fixes UI delete)
Backup and cache management
prune_backups— prunes local cache only; S3 backups preserved (use S3 lifecycle policies for bucket retention)volume_resize— explicitly reports "not supported"
Path and template handling
/v1/pathseparated from download — returns expected cache path without triggering S3 download. Fixes EPERM errors on template destroy.- Immutable file handling —
chattr -ibefore removing cached template base images (PVE setschattr +ion template conversion)
Other
check_connection— detects daemon socket availability- Images in UI — content type selector now includes "Disk image" option
alloc_image— creates actual disk file withqemu-img create- Watcher — monitors vmid subdirectories under
images/ - Shared storage — S3 storage registers as shared for cluster-wide visibility
