Thanks to everyone who reported issues. Almost everything here started as one of your reports.

New

  • Sort the sidebar by name, date modified or date created. Folders sort by their newest file, and your choice is remembered. (#11)

Faster

  • Big files open and edit smoothly. A 1.5 MB, 200,000-word document now opens in about two seconds instead of locking up, and typing stays instant. Only the part of the document near the screen is rendered, and the editor no longer rescans the whole file on every keystroke. (#6)
  • Much lower CPU use while a long document sits open with the cursor blinking.

Fixed

  • Backspace and Delete work on highlighted text, including on Windows, and no longer break headings, lists or bold text when you delete next to them. (#19)
  • Editing a selection that spans several paragraphs (delete, type over it, paste, cut, copy) changes only what you selected. (#5)
  • Enter in the middle of a list adds a new item there and renumbers the items below. (#8)
  • Dark themes: dropdowns and other native controls are readable. (#9)
  • Open With / double-click opens the file on Linux (including the Flatpak) and Windows. (#2)
  • Minimize and maximize buttons show up in the AppImage on GNOME. (#3)
  • Homebrew: the cask installs again on current Homebrew. If yours still fails, run brew update first to refresh the tap. (#4)
  • Switching between Live and Source keeps your place in the document.
  • The cursor stays where you were after pressing Enter, deleting across paragraphs, or undoing.
  • Typing after Select All in an empty document works.
