SoliDB v0.1.0 – Full-featured distributed multi-model database in a single ~30 MB Rust binary
SoliDB is a blazing-fast, embeddable JSON document database written in Rust, with a large ArangoDB-compatible AQL subset and true multi-model capabilities — all in one static binary.
What v0.1.0 ships with
-
Powerful document store + rich AQL (JOIN, subqueries, LET, COLLECT, geo functions, full-text with BM25)
-
Native graph traversal queries (no separate graph definition needed):
OUTBOUND/INBOUND/ANYtraversals- Variable depth (
1..N) SHORTEST_PATH(Dijkstra)- Full access to vertices (
v), edges (e), and paths (p)
Example:
FOR v, e, p IN 1..3 OUTBOUND "users/alice" follows FILTER p.vertices[*].age ALL > 25 RETURN { person: v.name, via: e.role }
- Real-time live changefeed over WebSocket with full AQL filtering and since support
- Horizontal sharding (consistent hashing on _key, configurable shards/replicas)
- Leaderless P2P master-master cluster (Hybrid Logical Clocks + LWW)
- Local ACID transactions (multi-op, rollback) exposed via HTTP
Built-in security:
- JWT authentication + secure admin dashboard (default admin/admin)
- Non-expiring API keys for machine-to-machine access
- Embedded monitoring dashboard (Lua-based)
- Single static binary (~30 MB), zero runtime dependencies
Enjoy!
Feedback, stars, and real-world testing very welcome
