Media now reaches contacts across carrier networks.

Photos, videos and voice messages were stranded on the older direct-TCP route after messages and calls moved to the WebRTC data channel in 0.2.3, so on mobile data they could silently fail to send. This release routes media over the same peer-to-peer, NAT-traversing data channel, falling back to direct TCP only on a shared network.

Fixed

  • Media travels the peer-to-peer path. Photos, videos and voice messages now use the same NAT-traversing data channel as messages and calls, so they reach contacts on mobile data.
  • No more "Photo" placeholder. A queued photo can no longer be re-sent as a plain text label; media is carried only by its own chunked transfer.

Added

  • Media is retried. An unsent photo/video/voice message is re-attempted automatically once a direct connection becomes possible, instead of being a one-shot send.
