This is the first release of the openntc set of Neural Texture Compression tools. Refer to the Quick Start guide in the README and the introductory article for usage instructions.

The coop version of the tools is heavily recommended for RTX 20-series GPUs and beyond. At the time of writing this requires:

  • The 620.12 preview driver, available here: Download link
  • Microsoft's DirectX Agility SDK v1.721 preview, available at https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/directx12agility/
    Copy D3D12Core.dll from the preview agility SDK to the empty D3D12 folder in the coop release. The non-coop release comes with this already included, but does not support the fast decode path on newer GPUs.

Additionally, all versions require the CUDA runtime v12.9 or after for compression. CUDA Toolkit
The runtime does not require CUDA for decoding compressed .ntc files.
