v2.1.19
This release makes theorem-heavy previews more faithful and predictable, adds
a plain theorem presentation option, and fixes several rendering and scrolling
edge cases.
Theorems
- Choose styled or plain theorem layouts. The common viewer controls now
include a Fancy theorem boxes option. Disable it for a more TeX-like
presentation while retaining theorem headings, numbers, labels, and
references. - Only declared theorem environments receive theorem semantics.
Environments must be defined with\newtheorem; similarly named custom
environments now render normally instead of being guessed as theorems. - Numbering and labels remain correct. Live theorem-numbering changes apply
immediately, and labels on equations nested inside theorems stay with those
equations—including with mathtoolsshowonlyrefs. - Page scrolling stays reversible around theorem blocks. Page and half-page
up/down no longer drift when lazy theorem rendering changes block geometry.
Text and footnotes
- Escaped TeX special characters render literally. Regular text now
handles\#,\$,\%,\&,\_,\{,\},
\textbackslash,\textasciitilde, and\textasciicircum. - Footnote popovers stay above display equations. Notes immediately
following displayed math are no longer clipped.
Compatibility
The WebSocket protocol advances from 74 to 75, so existing preview tabs reload
once to adopt the new viewer configuration payload.
Downloads. Prebuilt mathpreview-cli daemon tarballs for macOS (arm64,
x86_64) and Linux (x86_64, arm64), each paired with a SHA-256 checksum.
