Open-Wispr 1.1

Hold fn, speak, let go — your words are typed wherever the cursor already is, in any app.

Install

1. Download Open-Wispr-1.1.dmg below and drag Open-Wispr onto Applications.

2. First launch only. macOS shows "Apple could not verify Open-Wispr is free of malware…" because the app isn't notarised by Apple (that needs a paid Apple Developer account). It means unknown developer, not a malware finding. Allow it once — no Terminal needed:

   • Double-click Open-Wispr, press Done on the warning.
   • System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll to Security → Open Anyway → confirm with Touch ID.
   • Press Open Anyway once more when it relaunches. Never asked again.

   Do it right after the warning — the button only stays for about an hour. Prefer Terminal? xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Open-Wispr.app does the same in one line. (Right-click → Open no longer works; Apple removed that in macOS 15.)

3. Paste your own OpenRouter key in Settings → Transcription → Save. No key ships with the app.

4. System Settings → Keyboard → set "Press 🌐 key to" → "Do Nothing", and grant Accessibility, Input Monitoring and Microphone when asked.
