The ppsspp.ini and ppsspp.ini.sdl files are automatically installed in /roms/psp/ppsspp/PSP/SYSTEM on first launch of the PSP emulator. Make sure you delete any existing ppsspp.ini, ppsspp.ini.sdl and controls.ini files from other firmwares.
When launching PPSSPP from EmulationStation via /usr/local/bin/ppsspp.sh, the script handles configuration switching:
- It copies
/roms/psp/ppsspp/PSP/SYSTEM/ppsspp.ini.sdlto/roms/psp/ppsspp/PSP/SYSTEM/ppsspp.ini(for compatibility with the GO version). - On exit, it restores the original by copying back from
ppsspp.initoppsspp.ini.sdl.
For detailed views of the configuration files (e.g., controls.ini, ppsspp.ini.sdl), check the GitHub repository:
Tips for Customisation: These files can be edited to tweak settings like graphics or controls. Always back up originals before changes to avoid issues. If problems arise, restore from backups in /opt/ppsspp/backupofroms.
