Run EverQuest Legends on Apple Silicon with 100% open-source parts (Wine built from CodeWeavers' LGPL source + DXMT). No CrossOver, no Homebrew, no compiling.

Install

  1. Download osxEQL-0.2.0.dmg below.
  2. Open it, drag osxEQL to Applications.
  3. First open: the app is unsigned, so macOS blocks it. Clear the quarantine flag once — open Terminal and run: 
    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/osxEQL.app
    After that it opens normally, every time.
  4. Download EQLegends_setup.exe from the official EverQuest Legends site (needs a Daybreak account).
  5. Launch osxEQL → pick that installer → it sets things up and opens the launcher → log in, download the game, Play.

Requirements: Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 13+, ~10 GB free for the client.

Notes

  • The Wine runtime (with DXMT) is bundled inside the app — nothing else to install.
  • EverQuest Legends is Daybreak's game and is not included. This is an unofficial, fan-made compatibility tool, not affiliated with Daybreak, Game Jawn, CodeWeavers, or Apple.
  • Licenses: app code MIT; Wine LGPL-2.1; DXMT LGPL-2.1+ (see THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md).
