Releases: SPACESODA/obsidian-vault-code
Release list
2.2.8
Improvements
- Improved mobile settings layout to better match Obsidian: the font-size reset, value, and slider stay on one row.
- Kept the
.obsidianignoretoggle beside its label, with the Copy default action below. - Provider cards now stay in two columns at narrower settings widths and switch to one column below 500px. Removed conflicting grid rules.
Validation: lint, TypeScript, production build, and all 394 tests pass.
2.2.7
What's new
- Save webpages from Obsidian’s Web Viewer as HTML: capture the current page (DOM) or its original source code.
- Open the new Save menu to choose either HTML option or Web Viewer’s native Save to vault action.
- Unified AI entry points and selection actions as Ask AI, with updated translations across all 10 interface languages. Existing chat folders and history remain unchanged.
Improvements
- HTML exports preserve encoding, and DOM exports retain the page’s base URL for relative resources.
- Save dialogs focus the filename automatically and prevent overwriting existing files.
Validation: all 394 tests pass; local checks and the public Obsidian Community Directory review workflow pass without warnings.
2.2.6
Improvements
- Chat about the active page in Obsidian’s Web Viewer, or attach selected text from the page.
- Send selected text from native Reading view and HTML, HTM, and MJML previews to chat. Web and preview actions appear near the selection; note and code editors retain their familiar placement.
- Faster provider and model menus, with background discovery, live model-list updates, refresh, and preserved model choices. Short lists use compact menus; larger lists are searchable.
- Simpler model-picker wording and updated translations across all 10 interface languages.
- Turning off Agent chat now cancels active requests and CLI checks, stops model loading and background helpers, and removes chat panes and AI controls. AI remains inactive on mobile and iPad, including when settings are synced from desktop.
Fixes
- Corrected Atomic Chat’s default URL to
http://127.0.0.1:53176/v1. - Prevented stale model-discovery results from replacing the current provider’s choices or restoring disabled AI activity.
Validated with 374 passing tests, lint, and TypeScript/build checks.
2.2.5
Improvements
- Clearer chat permission recovery: after choosing Edit mode, the inline action becomes Continue, without a duplicate button below.
- Continue restores your original request and selection unchanged, without adding an instruction to edit. Drafts are protected, and nothing is sent automatically.
- Improved agent guidance for answering questions directly in chat. Switching modes does not authorize unsolicited file changes.
- Requests keep the mode, provider, and model selected when sent, even if settings change while context loads.
- Updated permission messages across all 10 interface languages and removed unused text.
Fixes
- Fixed blank SVG previews for percentage-sized images with a valid viewBox, without modifying the original file.
- Fixed the README screenshot so it renders on GitHub.
Validated with 330 passing tests, lint, and TypeScript/build checks.
2.2.4
Improvements
- The Send to Chat button now waits until selection settles for 0.3 seconds before appearing, keeping text clear while you select it in native notes and the code editor.
- Added a subtle fade-in that respects reduced-motion preferences.
- Improved handling of mouse and touch selection, keyboard changes, scrolling, and cancelled gestures so the button stays in sync with the current selection.
- Removed an unnecessary type assertion reported by the Obsidian code check.
Validated with 325 passing tests, lint, and TypeScript/build checks.
2.2.3
What's new
- Search rendered HTML, HTM, and MJML previews without switching to the code editor. Use the search button or Cmd/Ctrl+F, then move between matches with Enter and Shift+Enter.
- See match locations along the preview's right edge, with a distinct marker for the current match.
- SYMLINK labels now use your theme's accent color.
Search supports changing page content and clears its highlights when closed, without modifying the file.
Validated with 321 passing tests, TypeScript checks, and lint checks.
2.2.2
Fixes and improvements
- Mermaid previews now refresh immediately after clicking Allow in Obsidian’s per-vault approval prompt. No need to switch files or reopen the preview.
- Applies to both
.mmdand.mermaidfiles while preserving Obsidian’s approval flow. - Pending refreshes are discarded when the preview is closed or replaced, and event listeners are cleaned up with the preview.
- Refresh README wording and feature grouping, including clearer desktop-only labels.
- Simplify the preview test harness to resolve a CodeQL alert about HTML filtering.
Validation: 309 automated tests passed, along with lint, type checking, and the production build. The approval flow was also verified in Obsidian.
2.2.1
Fixes and improvements
- Fix same-page anchors in HTML previews, including encoded section IDs and repeated clicks. Relative images and styles continue to load normally.
- Open user-clicked
obsidian://links through the host app, including plugin detail links. The preview sandbox stays unchanged. - Replace a CSS property flagged by Obsidian's compatibility checker while preserving mobile settings spacing.
- Refresh README presentation and shorten the Agent chat introduction.
Validation: 307 automated tests passed, along with lint, type checking, and the production build.
2.2.0
Agent chat
- Clearer Safe and Edit mode behavior, with stronger provider-native read-only controls for CLI agents.
- Updated default instructions and more reliable loading of the latest
instructions.mdpreferences. - Preserve selected CLI models during discovery and save interrupted or stopped conversations more reliably.
- New chat histories use simple hidden role markers so headings in responses stay intact when reopened. Older histories remain readable.
- Avoid repeating full history in resumed CLI sessions and report replies cut short by model output limits.
Reliability and polish
- Prevent an overwrite fallback after failed file creation and retain the unsaved indicator after save failures.
- Avoid duplicate editor restoration and stale startup callbacks during plugin reloads.
- Improve narrow-screen settings, keyboard navigation, and translations across all 10 supported languages.
- Harden instruction comment handling and protect unrelated notes during chat-history cleanup.
- Refresh README wording and clarify support for 170+ file extensions.
Validation: 301 automated tests passed, along with lint, type checking, and the production build.
2.1.9
Improvements
- Keep Chat at the far left of the file header, with Git and Code editor grouped immediately before More options.
- Reduce icon flicker when switching between Markdown and the code editor by keeping the current header visible until the new one is ready.
- Shorten the ignore-rules button to Copy default and refresh its translations.
Validation
- All 264 tests passed, with clean lint and a successful production build.
