What’s new

  • Add external folders by symlink (Desktop): Right-click a folder in the explorer, choose a folder on your disk, and name its symlink.
  • Linked folders show a SYMLINK label styled like file extensions.
  • Add multiple symlinks to the same folder, or overlapping folders. Newly added links appear without restarting Obsidian.

Reliability and polish

  • Prevent folder loops and accidental overwrites, including when destination paths contain aliases.
  • Deleting a folder symlink removes only the symlink and keeps the original folder intact.
  • Keep folder validation bounded and respect ignore rules during inspection and indexing.
  • Consistent menu and dialog wording, with updated translations in all 10 languages.
  • Resolve source and CSS review warnings, and refresh the README.

Validation

Obsidian lint, TypeScript checks, production build, and all 236 regression tests passed. No runtime or console errors were captured in desktop Obsidian. External-folder actions are desktop-only; physical mobile-device testing was not performed for this release.
