This meeting is just Q&A: there are no pre-planned general Spack topics
-
Mark Why do we have an audit failing in https://github.com/spack/spack/pull/36758 ?
- Mark: Failing audit is at https://github.com/spack/spack/actions/runs/4665371113/jobs/8258671728?pr=36758
- Massimiliano: Message might be more informative, but the
conflicts
on a dependency must start with a^
sigil
-
Wileam Pinged for a review of https://github.com/spack/spack/pull/35919
- Massimiliano: Will contact Michael and one of us will start reviewing the GCC part of the PR. Added Harmen and Tom as reviewers for LLVM.
-
Massimiliano Advertized https://github.com/spack/spack/pull/36679 and encouraged people to comment in the PR, if they have opinion on the change of the default
- Massimiliano: There are two aspects to be considered for the default: optimizations (-O2 vs. -O3) and binary size
- Chris: Pointed out that in packages he maintains he overrides flags to be used with
RelWithDebInfo
, so to obtain better optimized binaries (this solves the optimization issue) - Andrew: Pointed out that we could override some flags using the compiler wrappers, if we want Spack to be in control of that
