(This meeting is just Q&A, there are no pre-planned general Spack topics)

  • Prentice: if I install packages with Spack, can I expose them to users without them being aware of spack
    • Use spack module (tcl/lmod) generation
    • Or use spack load
    • You can modify modules.yaml to have those modules (or spack load) modify LIBRARY_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATCH
    • Phil Regier: spack load -sh (useful in podman/docker/container environment, where spack load had an issue)
