Fano Resonance

This fit model is suited to fit resonances with a Fano lineshape.
U. Fano, Phys. Rev. 124, 1866 (1961)

For instance, such resonances occur in interference processes, such as the Kondo effect in scanning tunneling spectroscopy.

Parameters:

  • y_0: offset in y direction
  • x_center: center of the resonance
  • A: amplitude
  • w: width of the resonance
  • m: linear background
  • q: Fano factor
