How to export games from ChessBase to a PGN file

I tried different methods how to export data from ChessBase, some work better that others. What seem to work seamlesly in all circumstances, even with the Megabase with over 10m games, are the following steps:

  1. In the file browser, select your usual directory where your local databses are located. Do not select "Cloud Databases".

  1. Create a new database. Set a name as you wish. As file type select "PGN files (*.pgn)".

  1. Open the database you want to export from.
  2. Go to the Games view, select all games (Ctrl-A)
  3. Copy the selected games (Ctrl-C). If the database is very large, this may take a few seconds.
  4. Open the newly created database, go to the Games view. It should be empty.
  5. Paste the games (Ctrl-V). A dialog appears. Confirm the defaults with OK.
