Boot crash loop

Describe the bug
I tried to upgrade to the latest version and Predbat is not stuck in a Boot crash loop. The predbat core update says that it is on V8.47.7 and wants to update to V8.48.1

Expected behaviour
I expected the update to happen and not crash

Environment details

I've got a GivEnergy AIO and Gateway connected through GiveTCPV3.5

Home Assistant OS
Core 2026.8.1
Supervisor 2026.07.5
Operating System 18.2
Frontend 20260729.6

I didn't have a back-up of Predbat so I can't go back to a previous version. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Predbat but no joy. I've also tried rebooting HA.

I've attached the Log file from between the last two Killed statements

Predbat debug yaml file
This is important for any plan related issues.

Once you have captured the issue go to the Web UI, in the Dash tab click on predbat_debug.yaml and wait 30 seconds for it to download. Select 'keep' if your Web Browser thinks the file is dangerous.

Rename the download file to predbat_debug.yaml.txt and upload it to GitHub. This will allow your plan to be reproduced and also stores all your settings for review.

Can you please share what's in predbat.log that might indicate the issue, the add on log just shows the startup and shutdown

Sorry, I thought that was it. I've just downloaded this from the predbat directory, is this the file you need?

yes this is the right logfile

it seems to show that loadML starts loading history and then crashes

indicative of Predbat running out of resources, usually memory

what hardware are you running HA on, and how much memory have you allocated to HA? Usually need 3Gb

you could try editing apps.yaml and reducing the number of days of history to load

I didn't have a back-up of Predbat so I can't go back to a previous version

instructions on how to manually download a predbat version are in the setup guide for predbat, so you can use this to revert to an older version

Thank you very much. I'm running it on a VM on my Synology NAS and I've just upped the memory available to 4GB and it seems to be working perfectly again.
