Seven more accessibility checks stop failing on hidden elements, and a smart audit no longer calls a finding fixed when its rule never finished.

Fixed

  • a11y: aria-meter-name, aria-progressbar-name, aria-toggle-field-name, aria-tooltip-name, aria-treeitem-name, input-image-alt and link-text now read which elements are out of the accessibility tree the same way as button-name and select-name. An element hidden by hidden, aria-hidden, display: none or a closed dialog is no longer reported, and one a style may hide (a no-js fallback on a page with an external stylesheet included) is reported as <check>-unconfirmed instead of a failure. A visible one still fails. Reading hidden elements is also faster on large pages (#993).
  • A smart audit no longer marks a finding fixed when its rule timed out on every page of the re-crawl. The rule never finished, so nothing was checked, and the earlier finding now stays open until a run completes the rule.
