New Features

  • Web Viewer - Open .timeline files in a read-only browser viewer, including public GitHub-hosted timelines via shareable links.
    • Paste a public GitHub file URL into timelines.studio/viewer to get a viewer link.
    • The site does not store your timeline or your link; it simply fetches the file from GitHub and displays it.
    • Use a packaged .timeline file if you want linked images and notes to work in the web viewer.
    • Link format:
      • GitHub file: https://github.com/USERNAME/REPOSITORY/blob/main/path/to/your.timeline
      • Viewer link: https://www.timelines.studio/viewer/gh/USERNAME/REPOSITORY/main/path/to/your.timeline
    • Use the viewer link for sharing or embedding in an iframe.
  • Packaged .timeline Files - Export timelines as a single sharable file with linked images and notes included, then reopen those packaged files in the app or web viewer.
  • Touch Controls - Pan and pinch-zoom the timeline on touch devices.

Improvements

  • Spreadsheet View - Added sorting for all columns and multi-cell actions for faster bulk editing.
  • Filter Menu - New chip-based filter UI with tag spotlight/hide/pin controls, query history, and a larger expanded filter panel.
  • Drag-and-Drop Import - Drop .timeline files onto the home page to import them.
  • Custom Install Folders - The installer now lets you choose a custom install location.
  • Marketplace Bulk Actions - Install, uninstall, and manage multiple themes more quickly from the marketplace.
  • Placeholder text now follows theme colors more consistently across the app and viewer.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix broken asset and note paths after renaming or duplicating timelines.
  • Fix duplicate or stray files being created while renaming timelines.
  • Fix several data-loss cases around duplicate names, subfolder notes, and timeline saves.
  • Fix web viewer panel overlap.

This is an early testing build. Expect bugs, missing features, and breaking changes. Please report issues on GitHub.
