v3.33.0 - Forge-Master context, insights, and review guidance

Added

  • forge_master_ask accepts optional caller, responseFormat, untrustedContext, contextBlocks, and proposeActions inputs, and returns a usage block. These changes are additive; existing response fields are unchanged.
  • proposedActions and proposedActionsMessage provide up to three role-filtered, proposal-only suggestions; Forge-Master does not execute them.
  • A structured forge-master-insight event and paginated observer status.
  • forge_master_observe is now registered on pforge-mcp as a proxy to the Forge-Master studio child, so any MCP client connected to a project can start/stop the observer and page insights (limit, cursor). There is no in-process fallback; an unreachable child returns FORGE_MASTER_UNAVAILABLE. Listed in the liveguard tool profile.
  • Memory provenance (origin, tags, visibility) and recall fencing, including fencing of untrusted recall.
  • Rolling conversation summaries retain earlier decisions and conclusions after turns leave the prompt window. Summary generation runs after the reply, and its usage is charged to the next successful turn.
  • Planning and review guidance now covers software entropy, knowledge-level DRY, resource ownership, domain language, decision revisions, and shared contracts. Design references and approval evidence travel with affected slices and handoffs; these are agent-side checks, not new runtime approval enforcement.

Fixed

  • The forge_master_ask capability example now includes every optional context/proposal input, a complete proposed action, and proposedActionsMessage. Its truncated value uses the four-flag object required when optional inputs are supplied, rather than the legacy boolean. Regression tests validate the example against the shipped input and proposal contracts. (#326)
  • Repository-only planning and review guidance tests now run only when their maintainer template and preset assets exist. Installed projects no longer fail npm test because those source-only assets are absent; the complete checks still run in the Plan Forge repository.

Security

  • Raised the MCP SDK minimum to 1.31.0 and Sharp to 0.35.5, and refreshed the workspace and standalone MCP locks for compatible security patches, including proxy-addr 2.0.8 and source-map-js 1.2.2. This addresses the MCP OAuth advisory, Sharp/librsvg advisory, proxy-address spoofing, and indexed-source-map denial of service without raising the Node.js floor.

Known developer-tool audit findings

  • The contributor workspace audit still reports 13 high and 2 moderate findings through braces and postcss-selector-parser. braces has no upstream patch; the PostCSS fix requires a major dependency change, and npm proposes a Tailwind 4 migration. The committed Tailwind 3 toolchain is preserved rather than force-upgraded. Production dependencies and the complete standalone MCP dependency lock audit with zero findings. Developer-tool remediation remains separate follow-up work.
