Chinese IME: does switching to English SEND the in-progress text, or just commit it?

Hi @anylink — following up on your report about Chinese input (STA-3129, Orca 1.4.163 on Windows).

Your report said that when switching from Chinese input to English input, incomplete text that is still being composed gets sent.

We have been trying to reproduce this and have hit a wall, so we would rather ask than keep guessing. We tested Ctrl+Space with a live Pinyin composition on Windows 11 with MS Pinyin, on the same 1.4.x build family, and measured what actually reaches the terminal. What we see is that the half-typed text gets committed into the prompt — it appears as text — but nothing is sent. No newline, no submit.

So the behaviour we can reproduce is "the unfinished text appears", and what you describe is "the unfinished text is sent", and we cannot yet connect the two.

Three questions, and any one of them helps:

1. Where were you typing — into the terminal (running an agent like Claude/Codex), or into Orca's chat composer? These are separate input paths in the app and we have been testing the wrong one if it is the latter.

2. What does "sent" look like from your side? Did the message actually submit and get a response, or did the half-typed text just appear in the input box where you did not expect it?

3. How do you switch to English — Ctrl+Space, Shift, or the language bar / another shortcut? We have been assuming Ctrl+Space.

If you have a moment to describe the exact sequence of keys, that would be ideal — but even just answering "terminal" or "chat" for the first question would unblock us.
