v0.1.6
ℹ️ Superseded — please download v0.1.7 instead.
This release bundles zebrad 5.0.0. It is consensus-compatible with the network (NU6.2), but a later zebrad release fixed a genesis-to-tip sync stall that can cause a fresh install to hang during the initial block download. New installs should use the latest version, which bundles zebrad 5.2.0. Existing users on this version: open ZecBox → Settings → Check for Updates.
⚡ NU6.2 hard-fork update
This release bundles zebrad 5.0.0, which activates the NU6.2 network upgrade (Mainnet block 3,364,600). NU6.2 re-enables Orchard actions using a fixed Orchard Action circuit and adds a consensus rule that rejects Orchard bundles with non-canonical proof size (GHSA-jfw5-j458-pfv6).
Update as soon as possible. Running an older binary past the activation height puts your node on a stale fork.
⚠ If your node was running before activation
If your zebrad followed a fork past the activation height (block 3,364,600), the binary swap alone will not recover it. You'll see sync stalls or "tip diverged" behavior. Recovery:
- Open ZecBox → Settings → Advanced → Rebuild Database
- Confirm. Your chain data is wiped and your node resyncs on the canonical NU6.2 chain.
- Initial resync takes several hours.
If you have a chain backup from before the activation height, you can sync from that instead — see the upstream Zebra 5.0.0 release notes.
What's included
- Bundled zebrad updated 4.5.1 → 5.0.0
- ZecBox app version 0.1.5 → 0.1.6
- No ZecBox UI changes — pure binary + version bump
