Added

  • The cost estimate learns from your runs. Every completed run now
writes down what was estimated and what Gemini actually billed, in both
tokens and dollars, and the activity log states the two side by side.
    Future
estimates fold in the median correction from that history, per model once
a model has three runs of its own, so the number on the home screen
drifts toward what your lectures really cost instead of staying a fixed
guess. Follow-up requests and aborted runs stay out of the ledger: they
were never estimated, so they would only distort it.

Changed

  • Lectern runs on Gemini 3.7 Flash. At its introductory rate the new
Flash is half of 3.6's price per token ($0.75 in / $3.75 out per million,
against $1.50 / $7.50), so a typical run costs about half until the rate
doubles back at the end of 2026. A saved 3.6 setting moves forward
automatically, exactly as 3.5 did before it; Gemini 3.1 Pro remains your
choice to make and is left alone.
