Important

If you are upgrading from an older version, follow these instructions.

New

  • Added a new setting "Name of Network Interface Controller" to the "Network" skin. Now you can specify which NIC information to read.

  • When using a 4x1 or larger system performance monitor skin (e.g. Battery, CPU, etc.), it is now possible to copy all of the information displayed by the skin to the clipboard. It should be noted that the copied content will be the raw data, so no calculations will be performed on the data.

  • Added "Animation" feature to the "Gallery" skin, which will display transition animation when changing images.

  • Added "Developer Mode" to make it easier to modify skin config files, skin settings files, language files, etc. The entry for this feature is in “Global Settings” -> “Features - 2” page.

  • Added some new features to "Folder Viewer" skins.

    • Added "drag and drop" functionality. You can drag a file or folder into this skin to copy it, move it, or create a shortcut of it to the folders shown in this skin.

    • Explorer Mode: Make Folder Viewer to browse folders just like using Explorer.

      • Use a view like "Details" to view the contents of a folder.

      • You can change the sorting method to name, type, size or date, and use ascending or descending order.

      • Click on the folder to enter it instead of opening Explorer.

      • Use the search function to quickly find the items you need.

      • You can add blank files or folders in this folder.

    • Added new "Search" parameter in skin settings.

  • Upgraded FrostedGlass plugin to version 1.2.0 (KazukiGames82's fork).

    • When you're using Windows 11, now you can select Mica and its variants as blur type.

    • Removed the border that was imposed around the skin.

  • Reworked "To-Do List" skins.

    • When adding or modifying events, a new settings interface will be used.

    • Now you can specify the deadline for the event.

    • There are 3 levels of importance for events: resolved, normal, and important. But it is not allowed to mark "important" and "resolved" at the same time.

  • Added the feature of "Show sutures".

    • The entry for this feature is in "Global Settings -> Appearance - 2" page.

    • Disabling it will hide the borders when panels are combined.

  • Added 1.5x1.5 size for shortcut skins.

  • Added German language support.

  • After applying the scaling, you will also be asked if you want to scale the appearance parameters.

  • Now you can select the color palette that QFCTF uses. The currently available presets are CGA, Vintage, Campbell, Dark+ and Ubuntu.

  • Added the ability to customize the action that will be excuted when middle-clicking on a skin. You can choose "Show variants" or "Unload this skin".

  • Added blur effect to some tooltip windows with black backgrounds. It is determined by the "Blur effect (background or window)" setting.

  • Added DuckDuckGo search engine to Search skin.

  • Now you can use the foreground color to colorize shortcut icons.

  • A new button “Switch the accent color and foreground color” has been added in the global settings.

  • Added Portuguese (Brazilian) language support.

  • Added a button "Disable Animations" to QF Setup's page 1 "Select your language settings".

Modified/Improved

  • Modified the display logic of "Top Process - CPU": it now displays the percentage of CPU time occupied by the program instead of the relative proportion.

  • The "Update interval" in the "Gallery" skin settings can now be set to a minimum of 5s.

  • Modified the illustration in the first step and the last step of "Get Started".

  • Modified some details of the "RAM" skin.

    • Modified the calculation method of "Virtual Memory". Now it is "RAM + RAM + Pagefile.sys".

    • Added "Swap Memory" entry, which is calculated as "RAM + Pagefile.sys".

  • Optimized window borders when using the FrostedGlass plugin.

  • Most of the text files have been modified to facilitate translation.

    • Reduce the number of variable names in the text and use %x instead whenever possible.

    • Split the text that needs to be wrapped into multiple keys.

  • Modified the behavior and appearance of the move button when Touch Mode is enabled.

    • These buttons are now always visible, rather than only showing when the cursor is over the area.

    • Now, the buttons are semi-transparent.

  • Adjusted some default parameters.

    • At 1x scaling, the default font size is now 9pt instead of 10pt.

    • When using QFCTF, the available font sizes are now 6pt, 7pt, 8pt, 9pt, 11pt, 13pt and 15pt.

    • The default corner radius size is now 8px instead of 10px.

  • The operation experience of adding shortcuts in QF Manager has been optimized. Now you don’t need to wait too long to load the context menu.

  • Details of upgrade notification popup window has been modified.

    • The display of upgrade changelog now uses scrolling feature.

    • You can now specify the interval between update notification popups.

  • In order to be consistent with the existing ANSI standards, the colors corresponding to the keywords related to text color in QFCTF have been changed.

  • Now, the preset themes will respond to global scaling settings.

  • The global scaling setting confirmation interface has now been modified.

    • The grid size preview is now displayed on the same side as the popup when confirming.

    • The popup size will respond to the global scaling settings before modification, rather than always being 1x.

  • Optimized the performance of Folder Viewer.

  • Optimized the performance of the animation of QF Setup's page 1 "Select your language settings".

Fixed/Solved

  • Fixed the issue where Custom Text skins frequently reported errors in the log.

  • Fixed an issue where the "Before You Upgrade" wizard would not jump to the "Upgrade Completed" page after the upgrade.

  • Fixed an issue where the "Remaining Life" value would not display properly in the "Details" style of the "Physical Drive" skin when using HWiNFO.

  • Fixed an error where details could not be displayed properly when the "RSS Feed" skin had a read format error.

  • Added a missing Measure for the "Physical Drive" skin configured with HWiNFO.

  • Fixed an issue where the -\- keyword could not be escaped when using QFCTF.

  • Fixed an issue where restoring settings would not work properly if files needed to be excluded.

  • Fixed an issue where some skins could not be exited from the skin settings after restoring to default settings in the skin settings.

  • Now, the upgrade notification popup window will pop up correctly according to the time interval.

  • When the "Media Control" skin uses the WebNowPlaying plugin, an empty cover will be displayed as expected after the player exits.

  • Fixed an issue with "Visualizer" skin not responding to the global lock skin position setting.

  • Fixed an issue where rainy weather could be incorrectly identified as snowy weather in "Weather - Current - Precipitation".

Removed

  • The "Eject" button is no longer shown when the “Drive” skin is displayed as a removable drive or an optical/floppy drive, as this feature will most likely not work most of the time.

  • Removed the "File name filter" parameter for the "Folder Viewer" skins, use the "Search" parameter instead.

Known negatives

  • Global settings will not be restored in new versions.

  • The following skin settings files will not be restored in the new version:

    • "Network" skin in "Quanto Flx System"

    • "Gallery" skins in "Quanto Flx Gadgets"

    • "Folder Viewer" skins in "Quanto Flx Gadgets"

    • "To-Do List" skins in "Quanto Flx Gadgets"

  • Due to the upgrade of FrostedGlass Plugin, Acrylic effects will not work on Windows 10.

  • If you have inserted color keywords into a Sticky Note, the changes to QFCTF may cause the color of the content to be messed up.
