Version 3.0.0 Release Notes

There are some significant changes in version 3.0.0.

Performance has been significantly improved. Reflection in Java is notoriously slow, so the EntityPruner now caches metadata it gets via reflection. The default initialization of theses caches assumes space for 200 classes, with a concurrency of 100 users. If this introduces bottlenecks in your system, you can change this in ReflectionUtil.java.

Populating an entity and Pruning an entity now supports Rails-like options. The EntityPruner.prune and EntityUtil.populateEntity methods now take a Map with options. The following options are currently supported:

depth - a numeric depth, defining how deep to populate and prune.

include - a comma separated list containing the names of child collections to include in the results. If absent, all populated collections will be returned.

select - a comma separated list containing the names of the attributes to keep when pruning. If absent, all attributes will be returned.
