New ChatGPT.app builds no longer hard-block the bridge. Signature verification, native-host checks, and the byte-for-byte cache comparison run on every launch for every build; an unknown build additionally passes a one-time runtime self-test (cold start with a real browser handshake) before its first use and is then recorded locally. A build that fails the self-test stays blocked. The bundled manifest remains as a set of pre-verified builds that skip the self-test.
doctor reports cache integrity and build verification as separate checks; an unverified build is a warning with a doctor --live remediation, not a failure
doctor --live records a passing build, so the first real run starts without a probe
