v4.0.10
Shelfly 4.0.10
• Added device names and a synced devices screen under Settings → Backup & Restore to manage devices syncing to your WebDAV server and remove abandoned device files.
Full Changelog: v4.0.9...v4.0.10
v4.0.9
Shelfly 4.0.9
• Fixed the language icon on the welcome screen showing as a black shape.
• Restoring from WebDAV now lists backups by the date they were made, in your chosen date format, instead of by file name.
• When a WebDAV backup or sync is interrupted, for example because the connection drops, the notification now says so clearly instead of showing "Job was cancelled".
• Text that used to appear in English or Italian whatever your language is now translated: backup, sync and restore errors, the import summary, notification categories in Android settings, country names, the share menu and this What's New screen.
• Removing an item from a list by swiping now takes a longer, deliberate swipe: a red background with a bin icon shows behind the item, and the phone vibrates once you are far enough, and letting go only removes the item if you have not pulled back. A quick flick no longer removes anything.
• When your library is empty and a WebDAV server is set up, the Progress screen now shows a Sync button that restores your latest backup in one tap.
• While a backup is being restored, from a file or from WebDAV, the screen now reminds you not to leave the app until it has finished.
• Setting up a WebDAV server now also makes it the backup destination, so pull to sync works straight away without changing the backup target by hand.
• Tapping the WebDAV sync notification now opens the app.
• The tip icon on the Progress screen now sits on the first show's episode number and scrolls with it, instead of floating somewhere else on the screen.
• Home screen widgets now use the language you chose for the app everywhere. Their titles, empty messages and the "more" row used to appear in the phone's language instead.
• Picking a language for Shelfly in Android's settings now switches show and movie titles and descriptions too, not just the menus. Picking "System default" there makes Shelfly follow your phone's language.
• Switching to your phone's language from the welcome screen now switches show and movie titles and descriptions too, and widgets update right away after any language change.
• After you change language, widgets now fetch their posters and translated titles themselves. They used to stay without posters, or in the old language, until you opened the same list in the app.
• Widget names in your home screen's widget list are now translated. They used to be in English whatever your language.
• Show and movie pages no longer say "-1 min" when the runtime is unknown; it is left out instead.

v4.0.8
Shelfly 4.0.8
• Fixed an issue where the text cursor and selection handles were invisible in dark mode.
• Enabled pull-to-sync on the Progress screens only when WebDAV is configured.
• Fixed vertical alignment on the backup export screen.
• Improved styling of the WebDAV import button on the backup import screen.
• Fixed deleting a list leaving you on the deleted list's screen.
• Updated the long-press shortcut icons on the app launcher to the Shelfly blue.
• Moved the filter chips on the Progress screens into the header, so they hide and come back with it while scrolling, like in Discover.
• Placed the pull-to-sync indicator on the Progress screens under the filter chips, and removed the message shown when a sync starts.
• The import summary now shows lists and list items that could not be imported, with the reason for each.
• Hid the WebDAV import button while an import is running.
• Fixed importing a backup adding a list's items to a different, unrelated list. Lists from older backups are matched by name, and the import summary says when that happens.
• Fixed sync combining unrelated lists created on different devices.
• Added "Merge into another list" to a list's menu, which moves all of its items into another list and deletes it.
Full Changelog: v4.0.7...v4.0.8
v4.0.7
Shelfly 4.0.7
• Fixed an issue where artwork on Discover could flicker and disappear while scrolling on tablets.
• Added the unified pull-to-refresh action to the Progress screen.
• Fixed pull-to-refresh indicator layering and list alignment issues during screen orientation changes.
• Added a detailed import summary page showing imported counts and full lists of unmatched items with resolution reasons.
• Fixed an issue where watched episodes for archived (hidden) shows were not restored during backup import.
Full Changelog: v4.0.6...v4.0.7
v4.0.6
Shelfly 4.0.6
• New brand accent color across the app, widgets, and launcher icon.
• New app icon and branding.
• Opening Settings now fades in smoothly from Discover and across the app.
• Full landscape, tablet, and foldable support across all screens with dynamic rotation.
• Posters on Discover now scroll up under the header instead of vanishing at the top of the list.
• The Shows Calendar and Movies Calendar widgets now show a preview when you pick a widget, instead of failing to load.
• Widget headers are now translated instead of always appearing in English.
• Countdowns to an episode or release now read correctly in French, Portuguese, Russian, and Ukrainian.
• Small labels in lists, search, and widgets are now large enough to follow your system font size.
• Screen readers now announce the create-list and back-to-top buttons.
Full Changelog: v4.0.5...v4.0.6
v4.0.5
Shelfly 4.0.5
• Opening a show or a film from a link, a notification or a widget no longer throws you back to Progress on the way. It opens over whatever you were looking at, and back returns you there.
• The search widget and the search shortcut now open search directly, without a stop on Discover first.
• The bottom bar no longer stays on top of Settings when a sync notification opens it.
• Sheets that slide up from the bottom - an actor, the links, the sort order - now follow your theme. They ignored the pure black and Material You settings and always came up in plain light or dark.
• The widgets follow your theme instead of always being dark, pure black and Material You included. They change with the app, so there is nothing to set up.
• Each widget can also be themed on its own, from its settings on the home screen: hold the widget, tap the settings button and pick a theme for that one. Material You for widgets needs Android 14.
• Widgets now change as soon as you change something, instead of waiting for a refresh that could take until the next restart. Very long lists are cut to what a widget is allowed to hold.
• Widgets need Android 12 and are no longer offered below it. The older way of filling them stopped being updated by Android, leaving widgets that could not repaint at all.
• Each widget has a transparency slider in its home screen settings to adjust its background opacity.
• The home screen widget picker now shows previews of what each widget looks like before you add it.

v4.0.4
Shelfly 4.0.4
• WebDAV sync now posts a notification while it runs and when it fails, so a device that has quietly stopped syncing says so. Tapping a failure notification opens the WebDAV settings from wherever you were in the app.
• Pulling down on Progress to sync now keeps the ring on screen and fills it as the backup and sync actually advance, instead of putting it away the moment you let go.
• Settings now offers a real choice of theme: light, dark, or whatever the phone is set to, each also available in Material You on Android 14 and later so the app takes its colours from your wallpaper.
• A separate switch turns backgrounds pure black for OLED screens. It applies to whichever theme you have picked, so "follow system" can still go black at night.
• The OMDb logo in Settings is legible again - its lettering was black on a black background - and tapping it opens omdbapi.com, the way the TMDb logo beside it already did.

v4.0.3
Shelfly 4.0.3
• All dialogs, option pickers, and settings popups (WebDAV setup, API keys, backup retention, tutorial tips) are now unified into a consistent modal system with smooth spring animations.
• Restored Contact Developers option in Misc settings linking directly to the GitHub issue tracker.
• Links in modal dialogs and onboarding screens (such as TMDB and OMDb API key setup) are now directly clickable.
• Fixed backup retention input floating label in localized languages where it mistakenly displayed a placeholder number.
• Fixed dialog surfaces having an unwanted red tint overlay caused by Material 3 theme inheritance.
• Tapping outside or pressing the system back button now reliably dismisses modal dialogs without losing unsaved input.
• Improved WebDAV test connection button placement and fixed result layout to prevent the dialog from resizing during connectivity checks.
• Standardized primary accent and secondary action button styles across all dialogs and popups.
• Debug builds now include automatic build-time version stamps for easier identification during testing.
• Welcome and What's New screens now open as the app's first screen instead of appearing a moment after the main UI, which was briefly visible behind them.
• Launches with no welcome screens due go straight to the app, without building those screens at all.
• Choosing to set up sync on the last welcome screen now lands on the WebDAV settings instead of being redirected to Discover.
Full Changelog: v4.0.2...v4.0.3
v4.0.2
Shelfly 4.0.2
• The welcome screens are one flow now, shown as numbered steps you can go back through, instead of separate popups that could land on top of each other. The TMDB key screen no longer appears over the welcome note.
• The welcome flow picks up where it left off. Closing the app partway through no longer skips the screens you had not reached, and release notes closed unread are shown again.
• The language question is now asked whenever your phone's language stops matching the app's, not only on the very first run, and it offers to keep the language you are actually using rather than always offering English. Declining settles that language for good, while a later switch to a different one asks again.
• The TMDB key screen keeps what you have typed when the screen rotates, and no longer clears the field and starts over when you submit it empty.
• The welcome flow now offers three more steps on a fresh install: an optional OMDb key for IMDb, Metascore and Rotten Tomatoes ratings; episode notifications, which ask for the permission instead of quietly starting switched off; and WebDAV sync, which opens the setup form directly. Each can be skipped, and skipping is remembered. Upgrades are not shown any of them.
• The welcome flow fills the screen and is always shown in the language the app is set to, so the question about your phone's language is no longer asked in that same language.
• Discover no longer fails to load on a fresh install. It used to fetch before you had entered a TMDB key, leaving an error that only a manual refresh would clear.
• Links in the welcome flow open in your browser.
• Fixed the Test connection button in the WebDAV dialog being almost invisible.
• The "?" tutorial markers now behave the same in every build. Debug builds used to suppress them.
