v0.1.0
Interlace, pulldown, and every way a deinterlacer gets it wrong — as an FFGL effect for Resolume Arena and Avenue. It treats a field as a slice of time and not just a slice of lines: field k carries the source frame current at the middle of its own field period. Combing, bob bounce, ghosting, 3:2 judder and a mis-lock are consequences of that one rule, and there is no table of cadences anywhere in the source.
What is verified
By tools/verify.sh on an M4 Max, macOS 26.4.1, on 2026-09-21:
- A weave combs by exactly
v: 1,980 rows per speed at v = 1, 3 and 7, largest error 0 px. - Adaptive collapses to Bob Linear at threshold 0 and to Weave at 1, with 0 of 2,995,200 bytes differing.
- 2:3 pulldown read back out of the picture as runs of
3 2 3 2; input frames advance 2.47 host frames per source frame against 2.50 wanted. - Inverse telecine combs 0 frames once settled, and takes 4 re-locks at Lock Time 0.05 s against 0 at 4 s.
- All 14 swept parameters measurably change the picture.
- Render cost 0.53 ms/frame at 1080p and 2.14 at 4K, or 0.86 and 3.18 in Inverse Telecine — macOS figures only.
- Registered, loaded and instantiated in Resolume Arena 7.27.1 (build 15990) on Windows on 2026-09-21, with the shaders compiling — on a software rasteriser (Mesa llvmpipe), not a GPU.
What is not
- Never run on a GPU in Resolume, never instantiated in Arena on macOS, and nothing timed on Windows.
- No long session, no composition save or reload, no preset recall in the host.
- No real audio reached it in Arena: the audio path has only ever seen a synthetic click train.
- No user guide, so the About block has three buttons rather than four. No factory presets, no browser demo, no OpenFX port.
source/StoatworksAbout.handATTRIBUTIONS.mdare provisional hand copies.
The macOS build is signed and notarised; the Windows build is unsigned, so SmartScreen warns once.
