Acceptance testing is complete, as confirmed by the maintainer. This release packages the merged Windows v1.0.1 baseline from commit 42c093110477fff0b66e9626f40fd933f5fef967.

Included

  • Node.js 24 LTS and npm, with mentor-controlled runtime updates.
  • Python 3.14.x and pip; project-local virtual environments are recommended.
  • JetBrains PyCharm, VSCodium and standard extensions, Git, GitHub CLI, DBeaver, Firefox, PowerShell 7, OpenSSH client, and supporting tools.
  • Google Chrome installed separately from Google's signed MSI and maintained by Google Update.
  • Windows developer configuration, validation tools, and scheduled maintenance.

The installer now reports numbered phases and a Chocolatey heartbeat. Configuration diagnostics and fixes address Explorer registry access, VSCodium stderr warnings, and Chocolatey exit-code handling.

Install on a Windows 11 student laptop

  1. Download Skyview-Windows-Dev-Package-v1.0.1.zip from the assets below.
  2. Extract its contents directly into C:\SkyviewRobotics\DevSetup. The installer, repositories.csv, and skyview-student-dev.1.0.1.nupkg must be directly inside that folder.
  3. Open Windows PowerShell as Administrator and run:

Unblock-File -Path C:\SkyviewRobotics\DevSetup\Install-SkyviewStudentDev.ps1
& C:\SkyviewRobotics\DevSetup\Install-SkyviewStudentDev.ps1

The bootstrap installs Chocolatey if needed and provisions the development environment. Do not preinstall Chocolatey or the development tools. Internet access and administrator privileges are required; allow approximately 10–20 minutes.

  1. Sign out and back in or restart if newly installed commands are unavailable. Validate with:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File C:\ProgramData\SkyviewRobotics\Test-SkyviewStudentDev.ps1

Git identity and GitHub authentication are intentionally not provisioned. The repository configuration starts empty; mentors can populate it and run the repository setup script separately.

Assets

  • Skyview-Windows-Dev-Package-v1.0.1.zip: complete deployment bundle; use this for new laptops.
  • skyview-student-dev.1.0.1.nupkg: standalone Chocolatey metapackage, also included in the ZIP.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt: SHA-256 checksums for both assets.

The automatically generated GitHub source archives are source code, not the deployment bundle.

Build verification passed: all eight scripts parse in Windows PowerShell 5.1, Chocolatey builds the package successfully, all ten packaged tools match the source, and the deployment ZIP contains exactly the three required files.
