CrewAI Studio v2.0.0
Major maintenance release — tool i18n fixes, a rewritten single-page app export and a large security dependency refresh.
Fixed
- Tools work again in all languages (#115, #116): tool names are now stable internal identifiers and translations only affect display labels. Agents saved with older (translated or broken) tool names are migrated automatically on load instead of crashing the app.
- 10 tools had no translation entry at all (raw
tool.*keys were persisted) and the Scrapfly tool referenced a non-existent i18n key — both fixed, with en + zh translations added. - The language selector is now locked while a crew is running — switching mid-run dropped the live progress and could leave the Kickoff page half-rendered.
Single-page app export — rewritten
"Export as single-page app" now produces a genuinely self-contained app:
- Bundles a standalone i18n module + translations (fixes
ModuleNotFoundError: i18non startup) - Bundles an up-to-date LLM factory matching the Studio, including the previously missing Ollama and Xai providers
- Generates a minimal pinned
requirements.txtinstead of shipping the Studio's full dependency set - Imports and bundles only the tools your crew actually uses (DuckDuckGo, Scrapfly and YahooFinanceNews were previously missing entirely)
- Tool credentials (e.g.
SERPER_API_KEY) go into.env, never into the generated source - The crew runs behind a "Run crew" button instead of firing on every page load
- New printable report view + HTML download, for both the final output and per-task results
Security
- Large dependency refresh resolving the vast majority of open Dependabot alerts (litellm, langchain-core, docling, pyarrow, pillow, starlette and many more). The few remaining advisories have no patched release yet and are tracked upstream — notably ChromaDB, which the Studio only uses in embedded mode without exposing the server API.
Project status
The README now documents that the project is in low-maintenance mode — PRs are welcome.
