First release of FugueNT — a three-voice harmonic deviation sequencer for the Expert Sleepers Disting NT. Port of Signal Function Set's Fugue plus selected features from FugueX.

Features

Three independent voices each with its own clock input, wander amount, step count, sleep, and probability. Voices share an 8-step pitch sequence quantized to a configurable root + scale.

21 inputs — three clocks (B & C normalled to A), reset, root/scale/steps/slew CV, per-voice wander / steps / sleep / probability CV, and a randomize gate.

9 outputs — three voice gates, three voice CVs (paired adjacent for standard Disting routing — Gate A=13/CV A=14, etc.), plus min/mid/max of the three voice voltages.

19 scales — Chromatic, Major, Minor, Pentatonic Maj/Min, Blues, Whole tone, Harmonic series, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Harmonic Minor, Hijaz, Hirajoshi, Pelog, Slendro, Melodic Minor, Locrian.

Harmonic Lock — when enabled, each voice picks the most consonant of three deviation candidates relative to the other voices, keeping the ensemble in tune as it wanders.

Adaptive slew — slew time computed per voice based on time to next active gate, so glides always arrive exactly when the next note fires.

Custom display — 8-step grid showing pitch bars, quantized note names per step, A/B/C gate enables, and per-voice playhead markers. Bottom row shows live voice voltages as note names.

Install

  1. Download fugueNT.o from the assets below.
  2. Copy to programs/plug-ins/fugueNT.o on the Disting NT MicroSD card.
  3. Eject and insert the card; the module should pick up the new algorithm.
  4. Add it to a preset from the Add Algorithm menu — listed under Utility.

Requires Disting NT firmware new enough to support API version 13.

Build from source

git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/stuart78/SignalFunctionSet-DistingNT.git
cd SignalFunctionSet-DistingNT/modules/fugueNT
make

Requires the official ARM GNU Toolchain (gcc-arm-embedded). The Makefile auto-detects /Applications/ArmGNUToolchain/ if present.
