What's new - Theme Mode Support
You can now build a single card that automatically adapts to both Home Assistant Light and Dark themes.
The new Theme Mode editor introduces three editing modes:
- Auto (base value)
- Light
- Dark
For supported properties, you can define dedicated values for each theme while keeping a shared default. No more maintaining separate light and dark versions of the same card.
The card shown in the preview is available to download directly from the Marketplace.
Advanced Customization
Theme Mode currently supports all major visual properties, including:
- text, background and border colors
- SVG fill and stroke colors
- chart colors
- background images and CSS gradients
Combined with Style Targets, every component can be customized independently for each theme, making it possible to create cards that look perfectly integrated regardless of the active Home Assistant theme.
Improvements
- Added global and card-specific editor settings
- Added icons for editor panel sections
- Panel sections are now collapsed by default for a cleaner workspace
- Expanded documentation with detailed guides for Gauges, Charts, Weather blocks and Theme Mode
Bug Fix
- Add render scale context for accurate sizing in card previews and rendering
Build once, customize for every theme, and share a single Marketplace card that looks great everywhere.
And don't forget to share your creations with the community.
