New features:

  • All the buttons from the original WELCOME.EXE
  • Fixed bitmap transparency
  • Fixed Windows 95 support (YES REALLY IT RUNS ON 95)
  • And some other stuff I don't remember maybe

Compile:

The project now uses a Visual C++ 6.0 project file instead of a modern Visual Studio one. Try migrate it all you like... but this version of Visual Studio works on Windows 98 and can compile for Windows 95 OSR 2.5 no problem, with a fresh installation (screw you, 95 modded dotnet), so it's absolutely something. Just select the release configuration and hit build after opening the project WORKSPACE.

Binaries

Binaries are only provided for x86 now, as Windows 11 still supports it - of course - and it will natively run the same executable on Windows 95 as it will on the latest 11. The only real required change was changing the dialog to return a BOOL. Seriously. Just run the thing and have a laugh out of it. Wine also works.
