What's new

  • Tools for part of the screen — a scissors at the foot of the left bar frames part of the screen, then picks colours out of it, marks it up (arrows, boxes, text, a pen, blur or mosaic, crop, resize) to copy, save or print, or asks your assistant AI to read the text in it or name what it shows. A picture goes to an AI only from a desk that agreed to it.
  • Git accounts, chosen and never guessed — a desk registers the accounts it signs in with (an HTTPS token or an SSH key, with the name and email commits carry). Each project and each git tab chooses one; until then fetch, pull and push do not run.
  • Projects — a desk's working folders are grouped under the project they belong to.
  • What a new worktree brings with it — each line of .gitignore says whether its files are copied, copied with text replaced, linked or left behind.
  • The window opens on the work — the terminal first, the tab bar put away behind a switch in the title bar, and every + button with one job.
  • Fixed: blank tray and taskbar icons, and Send on a phone committing the typed words instead of reaching the tab. See the changelog for the rest.

Before you upgrade

  • A desk's notifications, model connections, automation doors, permissions and git settings are now its own, with no app-wide values underneath. If you set these for the whole app in 0.11.0, set them again in each desk's settings.
  • The desk secret github is no longer read. Add the token under Desk settings › Git accounts and choose that account for the project.

Which copy do you want?

Most people want the Microsoft Store version:
https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PB8XQVM87Z0

Microsoft signs the Store copy, so Windows raises no warning when it starts,
and it updates itself. It can trail a release here by a few days while it is
reviewed.

The download below is the portable copy. Same source, same build — but it
is not code-signed, so the first run shows
"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen). Click More info → Run anyway
to get past it.

Take this one if you want nothing installed: unzip it anywhere, and delete the
folder to remove it.

Install (portable)

  1. Download SHIKISHA-TERM.zip below and unzip it anywhere
  2. Run SHIKISHA-TERM.exe

No installer, no admin rights, no API keys. Windows 10/11.

Verify the download with SHIKISHA-TERM.zip.sha256 if you like.

Linux

One static binary, no window, serving the board over the network — for a VPS
or a cloud VM you reach from a browser or a phone.

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/styleio/ShikishaTerm/main/packaging/linux/install.sh | sh

It checks the checksum and the Ed25519 signature before it installs
anything, and refuses the download if either does not match. x86_64 and
aarch64; systemd service file included.
