What's new

  • A first start sets you up — it asks which AI to lead with, points at the ones this PC does not have yet and looks again once one is installed, asks after GitHub CLI, and Done makes a desk to work in. A git account can sign in the way GitHub CLI does.
  • A PROJECT heading in the left bar holds the one + that adds a project: pick a folder, clone from a URL, make a new one, or do any of these on an SSH host. A project opens with its first tab running the shell chosen under Settings › Basic (PowerShell, Command Prompt or Git Bash).
  • A worktree is made from one dialog — a project, a name and an AI, and Ctrl+Enter. Name it from a GitHub issue or pull request searched right there, or grow it from a branch picked from a list. It is made in the background under a row that says how far along it is, and a ✕ stops it.
  • Worktrees a project has that the desk does not list are found under its heading, to show or keep hidden.
  • Quick commands — your own grid of buttons over the whole window. Each press opens a new tab in the folder in front and runs a command there, or gives a prompt to an AI started there.
  • Rename a folder or a tab where it stands, edit either from its right-click menu, and type or paste a path into the folder picker to go straight there. Settings is one column of pages. See the changelog for the rest.

Which copy do you want?

Most people want the Microsoft Store version:

Microsoft signs the Store copy, so Windows raises no warning when it starts,
and it updates itself. It can trail a release here by a few days while it is
reviewed.

The download below is the portable copy. Same source, same build — but it
is not code-signed, so the first run shows
"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen). Click More info → Run anyway
to get past it.

Take this one if you want nothing installed: unzip it anywhere, and delete the
folder to remove it.

Install (portable)

  1. Download SHIKISHA-TERM.zip below and unzip it anywhere
  2. Run SHIKISHA-TERM.exe

No installer, no admin rights, no API keys. Windows 10/11.

Verify the download with SHIKISHA-TERM.zip.sha256 if you like.

Linux

One static binary, no window, serving the board over the network — for a VPS
or a cloud VM you reach from a browser or a phone.

It checks the checksum and the Ed25519 signature before it installs
anything, and refuses the download if either does not match. x86_64 and
aarch64; systemd service file included.
