v0.18.0
What's new
- The screen goes out as video — a phone watching this PC now gets it as WebRTC video rather than one picture at a time: a third of the processor, a ninth of the bytes, and 78ms from here to there. Where video cannot be had at all, the old way is still there and is stepped back onto within seconds.
- With the sound of the page being watched — that page's browser and nothing else of the room. It starts when the speaker is tapped and stops when the picture does.
- A mouse points where it is pointing — a press lands where it was made, a drag drags, a double click arrives as one, and the pointer passing over the page is seen there. A finger keeps its trackpad.
- A keyboard in another room types into the terminal itself, caret and IME and menu keys, as at the window. A phone keeps its input bar, and "Screen" in the keys panel hands typing over for whoever wants it the other way.
- The ? beside the gear answers out of this copy's own settings, in the language you asked in, with the button that opens the screen an answer is about — and it writes into a box you point it at, unless that box holds a secret.
docs/SETTINGS.mdandSETTINGS.ja.md— every screen, every box and the line under it, written out by the program itself, with a test that fails when the settings and the reference disagree.- A working folder's branch is named after the work, the once —
yourname/login-form-crashin place of a name nobody chose, and only while the branch is still on a name this app drew. - A change can be thrown away from its own row, once you have been asked and shown the command that will run.
- An AI typed into a terminal is noticed — the tab gets its mark, its states and its stop key.
- A working folder that is not on this machine says so in a card, with all four answers: put it here, choose another folder, look away until the next launch, or take it off the list.
- Fixed: the window no longer spins on its splash for ever; deleting a working folder no longer takes the conversations that happened in it, and a tab restarted during the day is remembered as it is now; closing one tab no longer takes the other tabs' conversations with it; the settings, the manual and the tools stay at the foot of a long sidebar; putting the window away no longer shrinks what a phone is shown; Esc, Tab and the arrows are not swallowed by an empty input bar.
Which copy do you want?
Most people want the Microsoft Store version:
https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PB8XQVM87Z0
Microsoft signs the Store copy, so Windows raises no warning when it starts,
and it updates itself. It can trail a release here by a few days while it is
reviewed.
The download below is the portable copy. Same source, same build — but it
is not code-signed, so the first run shows
"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen). Click More info → Run anyway
to get past it.
Take this one if you want nothing installed: unzip it anywhere, and delete the
folder to remove it.
Install (portable)
- Download
SHIKISHA-TERM.zipbelow and unzip it anywhere - Run
SHIKISHA-TERM.exe
No installer, no admin rights, no API keys. Windows 10/11.
Verify the download with SHIKISHA-TERM.zip.sha256 if you like.
Linux
One static binary, no window, serving the board over the network — for a VPS
or a cloud VM you reach from a browser or a phone.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/styleio/ShikishaTerm/main/packaging/linux/install.sh | shIt checks the checksum and the Ed25519 signature before it installs
anything, and refuses the download if either does not match. x86_64 and
aarch64; systemd service file included.
