WorkflowPad v0.2.0 Beta
WorkflowPad now has 7 programs. Two are new: Music Studio (write lyrics and make songs with ACE-Step 1.5 through your own ComfyUI) and Simple Chat Studio (chat with a local LLM workflow). The five existing programs work as before.

What’s new
Music Studio (new)
Lyrics editor with line numbers; undo/redo covers everything the tools do.
Sheets: keep several versions of the same lyrics in one song, each with its own style settings.
Lyrics Tools is a Workspace tab, a ribbon of small icon buttons in labelled groups (Sections, Instrumental, Vocal Delivery, Backing, Timing & Editing). Hover for a description, click to apply at the cursor, or drag an icon onto the editor.
Section Options: pick cues for a section, e.g. [Chorus - powerful belting]. Changes apply immediately, with no extra Apply step.
Song Structures: ready-made structures (Pop, Rock, Ballad, EDM, R&B, Hip Hop and more). With no lyrics it inserts the section tags. With lyrics, the AI arranges your own lines into the structure without rewriting them, and you preview the result first.
Style / Output redesigned as cards (Style Settings, Model, Song Metadata), with a Generate button and an Effective Caption view showing the caption that was actually sent to ACE-Step.
Basic: when you press Generate, an AI writes one music caption from your choices and your lyrics. BPM, key, language and duration are never changed. If the AI fails, you are asked whether to use the plain Basic tags instead.
Advanced: write the caption yourself; it is sent exactly as written. Prompt History is kept.
✨ AI Recommend: analyzes the feeling of the song and suggests three directions, each with a full caption and suggested settings. Tick what you want, then Apply (Restore is available). Suggestions are marked “Reanalyze” if the lyrics or settings change in the meantime.
Takes and player: every song you generate is kept as a take. Compact list with favourites and a ⋮ menu (view generation settings, open as an editable sheet, export, delete).
AI Actions and Analysis: Continue Lyrics, Increase Emotion, Improve Singability, Translate Lyrics, syllable counts, rhymes, singability checks, and a thesaurus (press the replace icon next to a suggestion to use it).
Simple Chat Studio (new)
Chat with an LLM workflow (LLMSessionChatNode). Each conversation has its own system prompt, workflow, temperature and max tokens. Search, pin, and export as Markdown or JSON.

Image Editor: arrow keys open the previous / next picture in the filmstrip.
The manual has new chapters for Music Studio and Simple Chat Studio.
Fixes
When the last take in the queue finishes, the player now really stops (before, sound could continue while the window showed “stopped”).
Style / Output: input fields now stretch to the full width of the panel.
Known issues
In Music Studio on Windows desktop, the editor may scroll to the end of the lyrics after a tag is changed through Section Options. The cause is not found yet. If you see it, run with the environment variable MS_DEBUG=1 and attach the log to your report.
The Preview tab (a vocal-only test of one section) is hidden for now.
AI results depend on the LLM you use.
Requirements
Windows 11. No Python needed.
A running ComfyUI (default 127.0.0.1:8188). WorkflowPad does not include ComfyUI or any model.
Music Studio needs an ACE-Step 1.5 workflow exported with Export (API) into comfy_apis/audio (an example is comfy_workflow/audio_ace_step_1_5_split.json). The AI features need an LLM workflow in comfy_apis/llm or a Grok key.
Windows may warn because the program is not code-signed. Choose More info → Run anyway.

AGPL-3.0. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt in the ZIP, which includes Ultralytics (AGPL-3.0).

Fixed

Unexpected errors (for example a full disk) now show a readable dialog and the program keeps running
Prompt Lab: LLM answers are read only from the REPLY → PROMPT → END blocks, so extra text outside them no longer causes the answer to be rejected
Prompt Lab: Save As never overwrites another file, images keep the seed they were made with, and images are never attached to the wrong prompt
Output files and prompt files are never overwritten or left half-written
Exporting and saving images no longer freezes the window

Fixed (important)
Update notice no longer turns the window grey. In v0.1.7 (and the first v0.1.8 build) the “newer version available” notice could blank the whole window as soon as a newer release existed. It now appears as a small bar at the bottom of the window. Applies to all five programs.
If you are on v0.1.7 and the window is grey: install v0.1.8 over it, or create %APPDATA%\WorkflowPad\update_check.json containing {"enabled": false} and start the app again.
If you downloaded the v0.1.8 ZIP before this fix: please download it again, otherwise the grey window will appear when the next version is released.
Story Generator
Image Prompts (Fill): more varied cameras. Each shot now looks at the cameras of the previous shots and avoids repeating a view unless the shot needs it. Tested on a 6-shot story with the local model: 4 different cameras instead of one repeated.
Image Prompts (Fill): clothing continuity. Each character’s clothing state carries from shot to shot, also when the character leaves the picture and comes back (e.g. an unzipped suit stays unzipped). The note used for this is removed before the final prompt.
Beat Sheet (local model): simpler format. Beats are separated by ===BEAT=== instead of paired tags, which was the main reason it failed. Up to 3 attempts. If it still fails, the Beats chat tab shows the model’s reply (turn on LLM debug logging).
Pose Variations: if the model plans fewer variations than asked, the app continues with what it got and shows “got 9 of 10” instead of failing.
Stray chat-template markers (</start_of_turn>, </end_of_turn>) are removed from Image Prompts, Beat Sheet and Shot List answers.
Story Bible and Beat Sheet changes so that story and language handling stay consistent (Static/Novel).
