What's new

• Paste images from the clipboard and start outlining right away.
• Add notes for the whole image or individual regions. Mac JSON 1.1 includes optional region prompts while preserving the existing 1.0 schemas.
• Find language options, update checks, help, and feedback in a unified Settings window.
• Improved selection focus, region numbering, and language handling. Feedback now opens the official support page.
• Updated English and Chinese READMEs, examples, and build instructions.

Validation

All 27 core tests passed, and a clean unsigned Release build passed for Apple Silicon with macOS 26 as the minimum supported system. See the README for build requirements and instructions.

Source release and downloads

This tag versions the source release. The Xcode project's marketing version and build number remain 1.0 (5); the new App Store build has not been released yet.

GitHub's source archives contain code, not an installer. No .app, DMG, or PKG is attached. Official purchases and app updates are available through the Mac App Store.

The repository includes the Mac app and its shared editing core. The hosted website and its infrastructure are not included. Original source is licensed under Apache-2.0; third-party and brand asset terms remain separately documented.

Flash Mask v1.0.0 — Mac App Source

Initial source release of the Flash Mask Mac app, corresponding to app version 1.0 (build 5).

Included

• Native macOS shell and Xcode project.
• Embedded HTML/JavaScript editor for selecting image regions, copying JSON coordinates and exporting black-and-white PNG masks.
• JSON schemas, core tests and third-party license notices.
• English documentation and file paths; English and Chinese app interfaces.

This release does not include a standalone web-app launcher or the hosted website's marketing, advertising, analytics or operations code.

Build requirements

An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later, with a full Xcode installation containing the macOS 26 SDK. Follow the build command in README.md. Node.js 22 or later is required only for core tests.

The unsigned Release build passed with Xcode 26.6 on macOS 26.6.2. The generated app's arm64 architecture, version and embedded resources were verified. All 25 core tests passed. Interactive app validation was not repeated for this source release.

The source archives below contain the source code, not an app installer. No .app, DMG or PKG is attached. Visit the Flash Mask website for the official App Store purchase and update channel.

Original source code is licensed under Apache-2.0. Third-party components and brand assets retain their separately documented terms.
