What version of Sumatra? Where did you download it from? How did you install it? Generally speaking one of ways to trigger this is if the executable has "install" in its name. That doesn't happen unless you manually do weird things or you got someone else's version. Download SumatraPDF installer from https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/download-free-pdf-viewer, run the installer and it won't happen. |

I actually finally figured out what the problem was, but only after I posted the question, here. I had been experiencing the problem for a while, now, even though I've used Sumatra for many years.
I even reinstalled Sumatra several times, but I kept on having the same problem, when I was trying to open PDF files that I downloaded via the Mozilla Firefox web browser.
I am attaching screenshots to show how I ultimately figured the problem out. it was a simple fix, and I'm really not sure how the problem started. In Settings in Firefox, I had to go under Application Details, and what it was that, somehow or other, the Sumatra installation exe file was listed t…
