Let the model choose search parameters, matching the Search1API MCP server: search_service, max_results, include_sites, exclude_sites, and time_range. Settings passed in code become defaults. Result page crawling (crawlResults) stays application-only, and unknown model arguments are ignored instead of failing the tool call. Search and news now default to ten results.

Verification: 17 tests, typechecking, builds, generateText/streamText smoke tests, and the AI SDK 5/6/7 x Zod 3/4 compatibility matrix passed locally and in CI. Three real agent runs through AI Gateway completed with zero tool errors. The release workflow repeats verification before the npm publishing job.
