Search1API MCP 0.8.0 brings source-card rendering to both hosted connections and the npm stdio package.

  • Use render_results to display selected existing sources as interactive cards in MCP Apps clients. Every client also receives structured JSON and a complete readable text list.
  • Rendering and expanding sources do not repeat searches or consume search credits. Search, news and ask retrieve data separately.
  • Bundle the UI and attribution in the npm package, preserve cached UI resource links, and correct sandbox metadata for Claude while retaining ChatGPT's dedicated origin.
  • Advertise the 512×512 square Search1API logo through standard server icon metadata.
  • Refresh multi-engine plugin descriptions, capability labels and English-only plugin skills.

Keep the remote endpoint https://mcp.search1api.com/mcp; the experimental UI URL switch is removed. For local stdio, run npx -y search1api-mcp@latest or upgrade with npm install -g search1api-mcp@latest, then restart the MCP connection.

Validation: 43 tests, Node 20/22/24 CI, and a clean npm tarball install using the actual stdio entry in modern and legacy protocol modes. Source-card display was verified in ChatGPT desktop and Claude web/desktop/mobile. Directory plugin reviews remain separate from npm and hosted-service releases.
