Pika 2.0.1 moves the direct-download version to Sparkle 2, fixing a security issue in the updater, and keeps Lab and OKLCH colours exactly as you type them, even outside what sRGB can show. It also fixes picking on a second display, and smooths out a run of small things in the readout and the hover buttons.
As always, cheers for the support, and if you have any issues or feedback, let me know on GitHub.
New features
- Wide-gamut colours: Lab and OKLCH values outside sRGB are kept as entered rather than snapped to the nearest sRGB colour. A warning icon explains when your display can't show a colour as itself.
Updates and bug fixes
- Security: updated Sparkle to 2.10.0, fixing CVE-2025-10016 in the auto-updater (#296). Thanks to banterny for reporting it.
- Second displays: the Pro picker now picks on every display, not just the main one (#302).
- Cursor: hidden over the Pro loupe when a pick starts from the shortcut or menu bar.
- Cancelling a pick: the value text now reverts along with the swatch when you press Escape.
- Editing values: clicking into a value no longer shrinks its text, and clicking elsewhere in the window deselects it.
- Buttons: Copy and the system picker show over the readout and Swap over the swatch, labels appear after a second, and Swap turns once per click.
