What's new

• Optional, user-triggered Apple local-model insights for a selected error-level event in the Timeline Inspector.
• Responses are presented as AI-generated hypotheses — not findings or root-cause determinations. Administrators should review the original evidence and independently verify suggestions.
• The feature requires macOS 27 or later, accepted Apple Foundation Models terms, and model availability on the Mac. If needed, run fm license in Terminal to review and accept the terms; MDM Inspector checks acceptance with the read-only fm license --status command.
• The bounded prompt excludes the raw log record, executable path, and neighboring events. Event message text may still contain sensitive information. Suggestions are limited to safe, reversible checks.

Compatibility and installation

• MDM Inspector app minimum: macOS 14. Apple local-model insights: macOS 27+.
• Apple Silicon (arm64) build.
• Download MDM-Inspector.app.zip for the simplest install. This build is ad-hoc signed and not notarized with an Apple Developer ID. On first launch, Control-click MDM Inspector.app, choose Open, and confirm Open in the macOS warning.
• DMG and PKG installers are also attached.
