GeekCode v1.0.5
What's New in v1.0.5
Workspace Query Layer (new in v1.0.4 → v1.0.5)
The agent now gathers live workspace context automatically and answers questions directly — no more "please run git log yourself".
5 context-gathering layers:
- Shell queries —
git log,git status, git diff, git branch, git tags, git stash, disk usage - File discovery — finds code/config files by explicit name reference in your question
- Symbol search — locates function, class, struct, trait, module definitions across the codebase
- Document parsing — finds and reads READMEs, changelogs, docs/ folders
- Content search — fallback keyword matching across all project files
Multi-Language Support
File discovery and symbol search now work across 30+ languages with 80+ file extensions:
- Systems: Go, Rust, C, C++, Zig, Nim, V
- JVM: Java, Kotlin, Scala
- .NET: C#, F#
- Apple: Swift, Objective-C
- Web: JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, Svelte, Astro
- Scripting: Python, Ruby, PHP, Lua, Perl, R, Julia
- Functional: Haskell, OCaml, Clojure, Elixir, Erlang
- Config/Data: YAML, JSON, TOML, XML, SQL, GraphQL, Protobuf, Terraform, Dockerfile
Large File Safety
- 500 KB hard read cap — GeekCode never loads huge files into memory
- Binary file detection — files with high null-byte ratios are skipped automatically
- Head-only reading for files > 500 KB — shows first 40 lines with a truncation notice
- 2 MB doc cap — document parsing reads a snippet, not the whole file
