OverBooked 2.5.1

First tagged release. Same code that's on main at 2.5.1, packaged as an install-ready
plugin ZIP.

📥 Install

Download overbooked.zip below, then in WordPress go to
Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the file, install and activate. The archive
unpacks to overbooked/, so it also drops straight into wp-content/plugins/ over SFTP.

The ZIP is ready to run — it includes the Composer vendor/ directory and built dist/
assets, so there's no build step.

What's in 2.5.1

• PHP 8.3 ready — modernised session handling and deprecated-function replacements; the
  2.5.1 point release fixes a PHP 8.2 dynamic-property deprecation in the main class
• Security pass (from 2.5.0) — input sanitisation, nonce verification on AJAX and forms,
  safer session handling, and wp_safe_redirect() throughout
• REST endpoints — GET /wp-json/booked/v1/appointments and …/availability, added to
  keep calendar and availability reads off admin-ajax and avoid REST timeouts
• Query tuning — limits capped to prevent timeouts on large data sets

Requirements

• WordPress 5.0+ (tested up to 6.8)
• PHP 8.3+
• Optional: WooCommerce for paid bookings

Verified

All 116 PHP files lint clean on PHP 8.3 and 8.4 (enforced by CI), and the packaged ZIP was
extracted and re-linted to confirm it installs cleanly with its dependencies.

Note

OverBooked is a GPL-2.0 fork of the "Booked" plugin. includes/functions.php still calls the
original vendor's support API for help-article text on the admin welcome screen — see
SECURITY.md. It's a read
of public help content, not a data leak, but it's a known follow-up.
