The interrupting page now names whoever is running it
When something answers your server with a security page instead of letting the request through, that page has to load its own icon and scripts from somewhere — and that address belongs to whoever is running the equipment. It is the one thing in the page that identifies them.
We were losing it. The log kept the first 300 characters of the page, and on the page in question that cuts off at exactly the point the address begins.
The log now records it separately, along with any other addresses the page refers to.
Why this matters
When a connection is being interrupted, both parties can check their own equipment, find nothing wrong, and both be telling the truth — the interruption is often somewhere neither of them looked first. An address belonging to one of them settles it without anyone having to take anyone's word.
