@sushilk1991 sushilk1991 released this 18 Jul 03:40

A cleaner pill menu, a smoother HUD, and a mic picker that shows real device names. Everything still runs entirely on your Mac.

What's new

  • Cleaner recent transcriptions. The pill's right-click menu no longer stacks five recent transcriptions inline with nested sub-menus. They now live under one Recent Transcriptions entry — hover to see the list, click any one to copy it straight to the clipboard.
  • Smoother HUD. The always-on pill did text-layout work on every mouse move anywhere on screen; during dictation that ran on each move. It's now memoized, so moving the cursor over (or near) the pill is effectively free. No behavior change — just no jitter.
  • Mic picker shows real names. The microphone list used to include a private Core Audio aggregate the system creates internally (e.g. "CADefaultDeviceAggregate-…"), which duplicated "System Default" and showed a raw identifier. It's now filtered out — you see System Default plus your actual microphones. A stale selection pointing at that device is cleaned up automatically so it can't be misread as a disconnected mic mid-meeting.

Install

  • Homebrew: brew install --cask sushilk1991/tap/velora (or brew upgrade --cask velora)
  • Or download the notarized DMG below and drag Velora to Applications.

On an existing install, use the in-app updater (menu bar → Update) or brew upgrade --cask velora. First launch downloads the on-device models (~6 GB) with visible progress.

If a previous update ever gets stuck on "Installing…"

That was a deadlock fixed in 0.10.0. Force-quit Velora (killall Velora), reopen it, and update once — from 0.10.0 on, the installer can't wedge.
