Velora 0.8.1
Velora 0.8.1
Local-first, on-device dictation for macOS. Your voice never leaves your Mac.
New in this release
- In-app updates. When a new release is out, the menubar offers
Update to Velora X — the DMG downloads from GitHub, is verified against
Velora's Developer ID signature and Apple's notarization, and installs in
place with one click (Restart to Update). Turn on automatic installs in
Settings → General and updates apply silently on the next quit or restart.
The once-a-day check stays anonymous and can be switched off entirely —
Velora then never touches the network after model download. - Spoken line breaks and lists now actually format. "New line" and
"new paragraph" — including natural phrasings like "now a new line" —
become real breaks; a trailing "new line" leaves the cursor on a fresh
line; "put this in a numbered list: apples, bananas, milk" produces a
proper list, one item per line. Prose that merely mentions "a new line of
products" is left alone, and the anti-rewrite guard no longer vetoes
numbered lists you asked for.
Install
Apple Silicon + macOS 14+. Grab the DMG below (Developer ID-signed and
notarized), drag Velora to Applications, and open it. First launch downloads
the models (~6 GB) with visible progress; after that everything is offline.
Homebrew: brew install --cask sushilk1991/tap/velora
Prefer to build? git clone, then make app — see the README.
Updating from 0.8.0 is a manual download this one time — in-app updates take
over from here.
