@svcho svcho released this 20 Aug 20:11

Changes

UX & chrome

  • Taller, more standard default window size (~1120×760); resets the previous letterbox autosave frame once
  • Visible load progress bar instead of a hidden “Loading…” title
  • Offline Retry returns to the failed URL when known
  • Complete Find: WKWebView find API, Find Next/Previous (⌘G / ⇧⌘G), Escape to dismiss
  • Window chrome follows system appearance by default, with optional Force dark chrome in Settings

Multi-window

  • New windows cascade instead of stacking on the same frame
  • Clear Session reloads every open window after wiping the shared data store
  • Page-ready theme/inset updates are scoped to the web view that finished loading

Attachments & voice

  • Attachment open panel uses a window sheet and respects directory/multi-select options
  • Images can be dragged out of the page again (blanket drag-disable removed)
  • Microphone usage description + Proton-only media capture permission (camera denied; native dictation not included)

Polish

  • Hardened New Chat / Sidebar / Focus bridge selectors
  • About shows version and build; Help opens the GitHub repo

Lumo 1.1.0

Changes

Fixes

  • Fixes the navigation policy to evaluate the actual destination URL instead of the target frame's current request, closing a gap where tracker blocking and external-link routing could be bypassed.
  • Routes mailto: and tel: links to the right app and denies unknown URL schemes by default (previously they were silently allowed).
  • Shows the error page for all load failures (DNS, timeout, TLS — not just offline), with benign cancellations filtered out.
  • Fixes a launch crash on newer macOS versions when spell checking was disabled (the private WebKit preference key was removed; access is now guarded).
  • Settings now apply to open windows immediately: zoom slider and spell-check toggle take effect live; the user-agent toggle is labeled as applying to new windows.

New

  • Check for Updates… menu item — compares your version against the latest GitHub release on demand. No background checking, no telemetry.
  • Finished downloads are revealed in Finder; failed downloads show an alert.
  • Continuous integration: every push and pull request now builds the app and runs the test suite (29 tests) on GitHub Actions.

Lumo for Mac v1.0.1

@svcho svcho released this 03 Jul 18:40

Lumo for Mac v1.0.1

Native macOS wrapper for Proton Lumo AI.

Download

Download Lumo-mac.zip, unzip it, and drag Lumo.app to your Applications folder.

Note: The app is ad-hoc signed. On first launch, right-click → Open (or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway) to bypass Gatekeeper.

What's new in this release

Bug fixes from automated code review:

  • Theme sync now follows the system appearance. The web content previously always rendered in dark mode because it read the window's forced .vibrantDark appearance; it now reads the app/system appearance and updates correctly when you switch Light/Dark mode.
  • Top controls stay clear of the transparent titlebar on all pages. Pages without the Lumo card layout (e.g. the Proton account sign-in page) now inset their header/controls below the titlebar, so the language and Light/Dark toggles are no longer hidden under the traffic lights.
